Hello! How’s your wonderful Monday going?
Did any of you get a chance to buy a Pudgy Penguin before they blasted off into space? I didn’t, haha. I still shake my head every week at how wild the NFT market has become.
Speaking of wild, have you gotten the chance to see The Suicide Squad yet? It’s actually really fun! The number of hilarious one-liners you can glean is pretty incredible, I will say.
I actually am rewatching it again as I write this week’s issue of the newsletter. Check it out if you get the chance!
Is it actually a good movie or am I just easily entertained? Hmmm.
Anyway, did you get a chance to see the AWESOME Galaxy Z Fold 3, and the new Flip? Make sure you watch Marques Brownlee’s video about the Fold 3. It looks really awesome. I think we’re only one generation away from a good foldable phone.
What I really want is a new version of the Razr that is actually usable, with a good battery life. C’mon Motorola. You can do it!
Anyway, shall we hop on in?
♻The Lasso Loop
Ever wish you could recycle from the comfort of your home? Once in a while we hear reports of the recycling trucks heading straight to the dump, and . . . well . . . it’s rather disheartening, isn’t it?
The Lasso Loop is the first appliance I’ve ever seen that will actually recycle for you.
In a nutshell, you feed it plastic, metal, and glass - it will wash it, and grind it.
Yeah, it will literally grind up plastic, glass, and metal. It’s around the size of a washing machine, but way cooler, like some vintage high-tech 80’s device.
Then - you can schedule a pickup of all the compacted components so they can be reused.
Here, watch the video.
Doesn’t it look awesome? I think what I find most exciting about Lasso Loop is how simple it makes the recycling process.
No handwashing cans or separating things into different bings. This actually does the work for you. Just stick a can through the slot and it takes care of everything else. If it can’t accept something, it will give it back. Just look at how uncomplicated it is.
Also, it’s very high-tech. You can schedule delivery through the app, view how much space is still available, and other features.
At the moment, it looks like they’re trying to get the cost under $3200, but as a first to market kinda device, that’s not tooo crazy.

💊Survival Meds
What do ya do when you need prescription meds in the wilderness?
Well, nothing unless there happens to be a doctor and a pharmacy nearby.
What if you could go prepared for certain emergencies?
There’s a company called Duration Health that will enable you to do just that.
Every kit includes a mandatory one-on-one video visit with our doctors, plus our printed Field Guide. Our doctors review your medical history, prescribe and ship your custom all-in-one kit, including Rx. (Source)
Isn’t that cool? All you have to do is meet virtually with a doctor to see what medications you could need for a particular use case.
As someone who has no idea what I could need for say - a three day hiking trip out in the middle of nowhere - something like this would be of infinite value.
That being said, I’m very curious as to how severe they would prescribe medication.
Doctor - I’m worried that I could break a leg on my hard core solo trip in the Grand Canyon.
I totally get it - I’ll prescribe some morphine and you’ll be able to make it back to civilization. I can’t say the same for the long-term use of your leg, but hey, you won’t be food for the vultures.
or - for example - what if you want medication as part of an emergency preparedness kit. Could you get one and just reup the medications every year?
It’s an interesting product for sure! Check it out at the link.
🍿Oppopop Popcorn
Around us are dozens of food categories ripe for the modernizin’ - like Popcorn. For years brands like Orville have controlled the Popcorn part of the aisle.
Well, there’s a new modern kid on the block, and they may have just what it takes to become a challenger in the space.
HI, WE’RE OPOPOP.
We’re on a mission to liberate you from boring popcorn. With unexpected flavors, new ways to pop, and a complete reinvention of your favorite snack, we make delicious gourmet popcorn optimized for eating. (Source)
The branding is pretty awesome. Bold colors and packaging. Who wouldn’t want that on their shelf?
They have delicious-sounding flavors like Vanilla Cake Pop, Salted Umami, Cinnalicious, and Fancy Butter.
The pricing is not cheap though. If you get a 3 flavor adventure pack (6 packs per flavor) for $45, it’s about $2.50 a pack of popcorn.
It’s at this point that you’d have to take a leap of faith to determine if the popcorn is worth it. Is it delicious enough to justify the price? That’s the question.
It looks like you need one of their microwave popcorn poppers to pop the corn, so you’d probably need to buy the $40 Discovery kit. That’s a nifty way to lock you into buying more popcorn. I spent $25 on this thing - I need to keep buying popcorn to justify the expense.
Not to mention, they have the ole’ subscribe and save to lock in subscribers. As an Ecom company, they’re definitely checking all the right boxes.
Well, what do you think? I might buy it one of these days - either for myself or for a friend. Check it out at the link!
