It’s been a crazy last week of July, with the return of Gawker - maybe I should try pitching a fun article to them. Hmmmm. Hopefully, they write lots of bizarre internet culture articles like they used to.
Shkreli’s Wu-Tang album got sold by the Justice Dept to an unknown buyer. Are we ever gonna get to hear it? If you stop and think about it, that thing is like the original NFT.

To be honest, these mini Skullcandy earbuds are tempting merely because of their tiny size, price, and keychain friendliness.
Have you ever thought about how weird our conception of family pictures will be - oh - in about a decade. All of millennials life will be on display for the kids to see. It’s gonna be weird.

✈The Drones Are Raining
There’s a conspiracy that the gov’mt can control the weather. Who knows? Perhaps they even have lightning weapons. What I do know is that the government of Dubai is seeding clouds with Drones.
That’s right, they’re making it RAIN.
The country’s new cloud drone technology, developed with researchers in the UK, works because small water droplets within a cloud that get hit with an electrical charge will be more likely to merge “through electrostatic forces” and turn into raindrops,” one researcher told Arab News. (Source)
Basically, the drones shoot laser beams to make rain
These drones are designed to target certain clouds and use electrical discharges via concentrated lasers to forcibly pool water droplets in the air, thus triggering desired rainfall. With the equivalent of an atmospheric cattle prod, Dubai has achieved just that — depicted in several videos posted to Instagram — electrocuting the air into rain. (Source)
Pretty wild if you ask me! Personally, I’m waiting for the snow drones to come out.
The idea of artificially making clouds rain has been around for a while. In fact, here’s a link to an article from the 50’s about using Silver Iodide - another method for rain making.
There’s even companies that make Silver Iodide flares to encourage rain. This one - Ice Flares - sells plane racks and rocket launchers.
That’s right. Rain Makin Rocket launchers. Here’s a picture of one.

Have you ever wanted to create a diary or journal, but find the experience of writing rather boring?

It’s not an idea that I would have ever thought of, but now that I’ve discovered this wonderful site, I feel like I want to write more.
The really neat part is how it will replay whatever you type - and set piano chords to it.

I’m not sure why, but the combination of the minimalist text, the peaceful tree, and the background piano music heightens the experience of writing a journal.
It would be a lot of fun to write journals in this over the long term, and then play back each day at the end of a month.
