Heyyyyy friends! How was your first week of February?
Hope it was a good one!
I finished my diet last week - and I’ve dropped about 13 pounds. We did the Whole 30 diet again - and we plan to keep bits and pieces of the diet as we move forward.
Mostly no dairy except cheese for tacos, only a bit of Gluten here and there, and limited sugar.
I will say - the diet was more palatable this time around because I put just a little honey in my coffee each morning - just enough to stave off the sugar detox.
Simply put - I love sweet stuff. From Sonic slushies to sour gummy candy, I crave sugar.
I picked up Dying Light 2 today. I’m really excited to see how it compares to the first one! I am rather disappointed that there are no guns - they were a fantastic last resort weapon in the first game. If you haven’t played Dying Light - there are crazy zombies that are attracted to sound - and guns attract them like ants to honey. So even though you could find several guns in the first game - you would use them infrequently. The crazy zombies are dangerous and annoying.
If you’re a fellow Dying Light player - let me know! I’d love to squad up online.
Let’s dive in, shall we?
🌮The First Crypto Restaurant
One of the most common criticisms of NFT’s is that they’re mostly useless 21st century beanie babies.
Unless you have Princess Diana - a lot of them end up being worth just a few dollars.
What can the NFT do for you? besides a locked Discord channel, or some whitelist access to another project.
I recently learned about a really cool crypto restaurant that will combining real food with NFT’s. It’s called “The Web3 Mexican Grill.”
The NFT’s will have different utilities - from free food to profit sharing with the restaurant.
Each food item has different days associated with it too
For example, this “Web3 Grilled Enchiladas Sunday NFT“ gives you access to FREE enchiladas every Sunday! You can buy it for the low price of 0.03 ETH.
It’s the digital equivalent of one of those legendary Mcdonalds or Chick-fil-A free meal cards - except you can sell it to other people.
Never want to eat another free enchilada on Monday in your life? Sell it to someone else!
There’s a lot of potential here. Restaurants could sell digital access to free items, exclusive items - and so on.
I think there’s a great deal of people who’d be willing to pay money to be able to exclusively order a special drink at Starbucks, or a special Monster or Rockstar energy drink.
Now - the profit sharing NFT is a really interesting concept. By owning one of the 359 Golden Double Tacos - you receive profit shares from the restaurant.
This is the one I chose to purchase. I’m excited to find out what it looks like when the restaurant opens! I may end up buying one of the Street Taco ones too.
It appears from the Roadmap that it will be opening this Summer. I can’t wait to see how the project develops as they get closer to opening day.

💥The Apocalypse Jacket
Fancy a jacket for the end of the world?
Vollebak has been making a ton of crazy jackets - by this I mean insanely cool - and the Apocalypse jacket is no exception.
At first glance, it looks a bit like something you might find at Eddie Bauer or an outdoor gear store. It doesn’t really stand out per se.
It’s almost a “Gray Man” jacket in some sense - designed not to stick out like a sore thumb.
It’s the materials and features that make it absolutely WILD.
Vollebak’s Apocalypse Jacket is composed of a fabric that was originally invented by Dr. Marvel, a scientist called on by the Department of Defense to invent a fiber with no melting point. In the face of the Cold War and the Apollo program, Dr. Marvel found that polybenzimidazole (PBI), could offer exceptional thermal and chemical stability. Used to coat the spacecraft that landed the first humans on the moon in 1972, “PBI retains its integrity after it is exposed to high heat, chemicals, and abrasion – it won’t stiffen and crack, unlike other fire-retardant materials,” as Vollebak puts it. Withstanding temperatures of at least 2,370°F, the Apocalypse Jacket can even survive the same temperature of black lava. (Source)
This jacket is as tough as nails!
I wonder what would happen if you hit it with a flamethrower?
It also has enough pockets to store everything you might need for a “survivalist” type situation.
If you turn the jacket inside out, you’ll find it’s not like any jacket you’ve ever seen before. The entire inside of the jacket is lined with pockets. There are 23 pockets in total taking up almost every square centimetre of space. The back is made up of 5 giant pockets. The neck has another 2. Even the sleeves have 6. Yet all the pockets are built with concealed zippers hidden in the seams, so no-one apart from you would know they’re even there. (source)
Plenty of space for food, rope, ammo, weapons, and everything else you might need.
Another great advantage is that you can stuff the pockets with insulation when the temperatures start plummeting.
The hood is absolutely epic too! It would be fantastic in a blizzard or high winds.

⚔PS1 Bloodborne
I have a love hate relationship with Bloodborne. I love the aesthetic and Lore - but I despise how incredibly difficult the game is.
First game i’ve ever had a internal conflict when I sold it back to Gamestop.
I recently discovered that it has been turned into a PS1 game.
Behold - this glorious downgrade
It looks marvelously blocky, dark, and gloriously aestheticc.
Of all the “downgrades” I’ve seen - Bloodborne is one of the best ones I’ve seen so far. It’s so well done!
Only a few hours of gameplay were converted, but that’s a lot of really hard work and effort.
The developer is currently adding split screen too!
It would be a lot of fun to convert it to a disc, make it playable on the PS1, and play it on an old TV. That sounds like a tough challenge . . .
It’s playable on your PC, and FREE.
Go download it at the link.

John Locke’s Pancake Recipe
I seem to have a strong desire to make pancakes now. It’s amazing what things we’ve preserved from authors hundreds of years ago.
