Hey friends! I hope youāre doing well this week.
Last week was very tragic and dark - my heart bleeds for all the families and friends who lost loved ones last week in the pogrom committed by the terrorist organization Hamas.
Itās kind of hard to write about fun or cool stuff right now - you know?
But - we press on.
Rewatched Dead Snow 1-2 last week - hilarious zombie movies - and have a few more horror movies on my radar for this week.
Also started Loki - itās really good these first two episodes! If only all the Marvel shows were like this.
I also discovered that the SUPER CREEPY hushwave creator Begotten released a 7th album. Watch the video by Pad Chennington at that link.
(I get all the Geometric Lullaby release notifications - but didnāt notice it).
Check out the Begotten album here.
Begotten almost feels like a Vaporwave Banksy - so itās worth checking out if you like WILD mysteries.
ALSO - get ready for the awesome looking multiplayer braid browser coming out. It looks so much fun! (a browser you can USE WITH OTHERS IN LIVE TIMEEE).

šŖSpace OS
Cloud computers + Canvases meet!
If youāre familiar at all with Kosmik or Sprout.place - Space OS will be familiar to you.
Hereās the launch video.
Space OS is still in Alpha - so donāt expect it to run like a Apple iPhone 15 Pro - but - itās pretty epic so far.
Basically - itās a cloud computer where you drag squares or rectangles - and embed links, docs, pics, or . . . apps.
apps? Yeah - you can create apps (with AI or your own code).
You can do really really advanced stuff here - thereās a lot of documentation.
For fun - I embedded 2 player Pong in my space - one side as WASD and the other as arrow keys.
One immediate use case that comes to mind is watching a YouTube video and taking notes at the same time (without messing with different windows).
Or playing with game HTML code you found on the internet.
Iāll be keeping an eye on Space OS - Iām excited to see what new features are added. Itās an interesting challenger in the āinfinite canvasā space with its app functionality - Lots of potential for āhands-onā creativity.

š»The E-Ink Ecosystem
Weāre almost to an ENTIRE alternative e-ink tech ecosystem.
A company called Modos is developing an E-Ink laptop.
Imagine a laptop that allows you to work in your most productive environment from anywhere. A laptop that encourages you to spend less time in front of a screen and gives you back time to focus on what matters most in life. In todayās digital world, itās hard to find a place for focused thinking. Itās even harder to find a device for this purpose. (source)
Iām looking forward to seeing how it performs!
Yes, I know that Lenovo is coming out with their ThinkBook Plus that has a second e-ink screen - but Iām talking a full-on e-ink ecosystem.
My definition of a āfull-on e-ink ecosystemā includes laptops, monitors, tablets, and phones.
You could in theory replace all of your screens with e-ink substitutes for maximum aestheticc.
The Modos laptop looks to be the final piece of the puzzle.
You could have a Hisense e-ink phone or a light phone as your daily driver
You can own a Boox E-ink tablet
Got a normal PC? use a Boox E-ink Mira Monitor.
Pretty exciting to see it all coming together. I doubt any of these devices will ever go mainstream - but still, itās pretty fun to see.

āļøAI Vtubers are Here
Weāre very very close to āuncanny valley wonderland.ā
a world where there will be digital characters living on our phones or games who can do whatever we want, thanks to AI.
Google, Amazon, and Meta are charging ahead - so itās only a matter of time.
tell us the weather, read the news, be a best friend, or annoy us.
in live time, with accurate emotions/lip-syncing.
Personally, I think within a few years there will likely be a popular rising news company (a la CNN or Fox) that will be entirely hosted by AI characters.
People are working on this stuff - like this AI Waifu Vtuber Github.
Ah - so you want some proof eh?
Letās watch a few clips. Bear in mind each of these are bootstrapped examples - without entire teams / funding behind them.
Camilla is cursed, and the chat section is disturbed - but this AI is responding in live time using Chatgptās API.
Continuing on with whacked stuff - how about Neurosama?
Neurosama is an AI Vtuber with almost half a million followers.
Yeah - you can watch examples here.
Another example is Motherv3 - if youād like to keep exploring.
Itās still a developing space - but there are already tutorials for creating your own.
I think open-source AI models (mistral 7B or Llama 2) will likely be the key to making these āAI Vtubersā easy (and affordable) to run.
Whether they end up being anime inspired - or along the lines of Arcane or Cyberpunk style is anyoneās guess.
All I know is - theyāre coming, and itās likely you, your kids, or your grandkids will be watching them.

Frontier Psychiatrist
Quite possibly the best music video I have ever seen in my life. Plunderphonics is AWESOME. Iāve listened to this song 20 times in the past few weeks - no lie.
Pixel Sea
Part Printer. Part nostalgic trove of wonders. This website is truly beautiful. AND thousands of auncient website icons.
Starlink - Direct To Cell
Itās only a matter of time until Starlink starts competing with ATT, T-Mobile. Heck - maybe cellphones WILL work for the first few years of the apocalypse. Calls, Texts, and Data over satellite.
47 Anime - 47 Japanese Prefectures
I knew a lot of anime had IRL references to cities, shops, towns . . . but I had NO IDEA of how many.
N Gen Art
Make cool Spotify visuals and discover more about your music tastes. Iām amazed at how much info this tool crunches for free! Really interesting info in here.
Obscura VPN
This VPN claims to not even know what youāre browsing - so even if there are logs - nothing can be leaked. Intriguing!
šµ TikToks You Canāt Miss
Now this is the kind of AI app thatās gonna āmove product.ā
When the parking situation is deadly
Thatās pretty smart - great Arduino project. I need this - but in slack.
Thatās what I call . . . Heart Attack Pizza
š¤AI AHHHHHHHHHHH
Fake deodorant so real looking you should be scared of AI in a year.
Yes - Letās collect all the AI videos on one platform. Youtube is wack enough.
A nifty real world simulator - machine learning stuff - Make AI Smarter!
Thatās all for this week - unless you want to go to Florida to find some Anime inspired sushi.
