Hey everyone! How are you doing this fine Monday morning?
My 9 month old son is almost walking - which is really exciting! My almost 2 year old daughter is not as excited - which leads to quite a bit of drama every day.
A lot crazy action happening out there in the world of crypto and NFT’s. Azuki’s are almost at a 7 ETH floor, The Bored Apes just hit the 100 ETH floor, and I missed the boat on the Pop Art Cats. 😞
I recently purchased a NFT from the Fang Gang project. It’s a pretty cool project, and I think it has a lot of potential for the future with its roadmap.
I decided to go with one that thematically goes along with my Land of Random / vybes personal branding. Isn’t he cool?
Yeah - I got Twitter Blue and made it my Hexagonal PFP. Yes, you can judge me. It’s the Land of Random after all - I’m always jumping in on new tech stuff.
Anyway, did you hear the news that they’re making the Razr V3? I’m really hoping this one has a bigger battery. Otherwise, I’ll be hoping the next Galaxy Z Flip has a bigger screen on the outside.
Otherwise I suppose I’ll have to downsize to 10-20 apps and maybe get the Razr V2. I currently have over 155 apps on my One Plus 7 Pro. Yeah - too many apps - I know.
Let’s dive in, shall we?
♻️Reusable Packaging
Many of us tend to buy at least one thing on Amazon a month or so. Every time we do - we get a box or bubble mailer. What do we do every time? Toss or recycle them.
And hope the recycling truck is not going to the same place as the trash truck.
With the increase in online shopping, the pileup of shipping cartons and plastic packaging material is also piling up in landfills. In such a scenario, if we watch closely, packaging has a single purpose – to deliver the item safely to the consumer – and when this purpose is over, packaging has no further usage and landfill is the ultimate destination. (source)
What if there was a different way? What if every package came in a reusable package?
That’s the idea behind Simon Chantrel’s packaging concept.
The renders also depict, the packaging material is flexible and it can be inflated to the size of the item it’s going to carry. The inflatable packaging can adapt to its content and once delivered, it can be deflated and rolled back. The INFLATE can then be dropped at an external collection point or a deposit location so it can be reused to limit packaging waste accumulated because of deliveries in traditional packaging. (source)
Wouldn’t that be awesome?
I could imagine some sort of third party company creating a solution like this for Walmart/ Amazon - then going door to door to collect the bags to give account credits.
After all - who doesn’t want a little bit of free money added to their account? Not to mention the sick PR of not contributing to packaging waste.
I went on the hunt to discover if any companies are testing something like this - and there is!
Loop is currently testing the concept in the USA - with more than just the bags - they’re testing it with the packaging of the goods too!
Imagine zero-waste versions of your everyday essentials from all your favorite brands. That’s us. Why own a product's packaging (and have to throw it away when you're done), when all we really want is the stuff inside? With Loop, temporarily place a 100% refundable deposit to borrow the packaging, and we'll professionally clean and reuse it once you're finished. (source)
Yeah! CLOSING THE LOOP. That’s AWESOME! The best part is the refundable deposit - because it ensures that most people will actually return the packaging.
You can even schedule a free pickup of your Loop tote AND all the packaging. That takes all the work off the consumer. They use the goods - put them back in the tote - and schedule a pickup.
They’re currently partnering with Kroger, Walgreens, and other retail companies to bring Loop to the average consumer lifestyle.

📻Build An Internet Radio
Have you ever wanted to build an internet radio?
These days when the term “internet radio” comes to mind - we typically think of a radio station’s website, a live Lofi Youtube stream, Pandora - that sort of thing.
We often forget about the REAL internet radio.
Do you remember listening to these a decade or so ago? exploring different stations to see what they’re playing and listen to random DJ’s?
With internet-radio.com you can even start your own stream with just $5 a month. Definitely an affordable option for a little hobby server.
Here’s another of those old-school-style internet radio stations.
Those were the days!
Now - what if you want to create your own internet radio?
It’s actually not too hard!
The easiest solution based on this article by Schollz - is to create a Digital Ocean Droplet ( server hosting - pretty cheap - as low as $5 a month), input some code, and create an internet radio stream based off a playlist of files based on your computer.
It will take a bit of coding know-how to set one up (Schollz’s directions seem to be aimed towards people with an intermediate knowledge of code) but with a bit of research it definitely looks doable!

⚛Epic Earbuds
I’ll be completely honest with you - I’ve more or less come to the conclusion that the best kind of earbuds to buy are the ones made for the phone.
Apple Airpods - Apple Phone
Pixel Earbuds - Pixel Phone
And so on. As a result, I don’t often explore the world of earbuds unless I’m planning to buy a new phone and am trying to figure out what pair works best.
I found this out the hard way with 2 pairs of Skullcandy earbuds. They suck at pairing with my One Plus 7 Pro. However, my One plus Buds Z work great.
I recently discovered these GravaStar Sirius Earbuds - and they look really dope!
It’s a very unique design - and the RGB lights are a cool effect. Personally, my favorite feature is the little mechanical button at the top that releases the earbuds. It adds a bit of pizazz.
I also like that it’s tall - rather than bulky. You could also stick it on a chain around your neck out of the way if you don’t have pockets.
That’s a useful feature!
The most important aspect - is the sound. From the description -it could be decent!
Powerful 7.2mm Dynamic Drivers inside the Sirius Pro deliver bass you can feel in your bones. Meanwhile, four balanced armature driver units designed by the audio experts at Knowles perform like an orchestra, with each driver masterfully playing its part to produce a well-rounded audio experience that delivers on all levels – low, high, and everything in between. I’m planning to keep an eye on this project for more hands on videos, but here’s a interesting hands on look.
