🔥Link Invasion - V10
Random links for you to chew on
Heloooooo and welcome to this week’s issue of The Land of Random.
What a week it has been. Have you ever had vertigo?
like - vertigo so bad you can’t stand and you have to lie in bed?
That was most of last week’s adventure. I lay in bed all Wednesday, my head spinning like Davy Jones’s ship in Pirates of the Carribean.
Thank the Lord - my friend’s wife (she’s a therapist) offered to walk me through an epley manauever. I’d never heard of it before, but I probably had Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) and ME EAR CRYSTALS WERE OUT OF WHACK.
YES. IT’S REAL. I’ve been slowly recovering since the exercise. I still feel . . . pretty unsettled tbh, with the slightest hints of vertigo.
It’s an insane feeling. The longer it goes on, the more unsettled you feel.
Fortunately, I’m feeling like 85 percent now. I’m having more and more moments of complete normalcy.
We took a hike at Jackson Falls this weekend. It’s a really cool hike here in Tennessee. There’s a epic waterfall with places for kids to splash in the stream, and even slide down some rocks.
It was a blast - our kids loved playing in the water, and climbing on the rocks! One guy slid down THE BIG WATERFALL and fortunately . . . did not get hurt. Here’s what he slid down.
Yeah. It was nuts. Here’s someone and their family sliding down the rocks - BUT NOT THE BIG PART.
No i didn’t slide down the big part - with how this year has been (gallbladder surgery, ear crystals knocked loose) I was NOT tempting fate.
Did you see the news about the new 20th anniversary iPhone coming out later this year? I’m curious to see what they do - and if those “AirPods with cameras” get announced.
I see these as a very viable contender against the AR glasses that keep coming out - like the Snapchat Specs.
Anyway, since I’m still rather unsettled, we’re doing a link invasion this week.
Tiny Wind - Yarhar!
Bring back your dreams of playing Sid Meier’s Pirates. Sail a pirate ship in your browser. You can sink ships and get treasure. Really fun.
Aldi Blind Box
This is very much a “surprise day of” type link but Aldi is doing various food blind boxes the next few days. Yes - they’re gimmicky, but fun!
Putt.Day
Play some mini golf in your browser. It’s really fun - and challenging.
Aenternet
This is a really cool “Pinterest” style inspiration website. Lots of neat aesthetics to explore.
Some Chillwave For You
Great vibes for your Monday workday
Wikipedia I-Spy
You know what while we’re doing the whole “scroll aesthetic” thing lets not forget this neat “I Spy” version of Wikipedia. The scrolling never ends!
Old’A Vista
Tired of using Google? Try this old school style search engine. The aesthetics are ON POINT. TONS of url’s to explore you’d never see on Google.
Remember Photobucket?
Apparently if you want your old photos - you can get access - for $5. LOL
Bubbles Town
FINALLY - people are beginning to make Hacker News clones. Hopefully this one gets some traction. :) It’s Hacker news - but for blogs. Very cool.
You Wanna Make Some Records?
but like - all the records. enterprise grade level records.
Infinite Landscapes
Unlike other procedurally generated worlds - this looks like a tapestry each time.
Haze Musicscape
A music scape that adapts to your work. The vibes are fascinating. Very Midi / Ambient.
You’ve Seen the Train Track Explorations
But have you seen someone camp on the tracks AND explore? Sounds like fun!
Just F****** Send It
A tool for sending files from browser to browser. Very neat!
That’s all for this week. See you next time! :)
