đ»How's Internet Radio Doing?
Turning the ole' dial
Welcome to The Land of Random!
Hope youâre doing well this colddd January.
Low 20âs - I know thatâs not too cold but I still have to crack the ice in the little duck pool for our runner ducks Lucy and Leopold each morning.
We had a cold âhitâ our household last week. Iâm happy it wasnât the flu, but dang it was sad when our 4-month-old son got the sniffles. :(
Note: Usually by day 4 of a cold iâm feeling better. That is NOT the case lol.
Weâve been marathoning Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the evenings. The 90âs vibes are awesome. 10/10. It makes me want to watch the entire Resident Evil and Underworld series again.
Have you seen the Hichord yet? Itâs a neat little digital synthesizer. Hereâs a quick little demo.
Portable digital music creation âgadgetsâ are really blowing up these days.
Moondrop has released some old-school headphones that are pretty neat - and theyâre only $25! Insane.
Oh! donât forget - Digg.com is out of beta and you can now join! I snagged the username ârandomâ and started a ârandomâ community on there.
đ» Adventures in Internet Radio
Itâs been a while since I last listened to internet radio.
How about you? Itâs a fun way to âmix things upâ from the typical Spotify playlist or YouTube lo-fi channel.
You get creativity, curation, and the freedom to not have to worry about picking the next song or YouTube video. You just . . . listen.
Back in the âold daysâ when I had my PSP, Iâd listen to lots of internet radio stations. It was really cool! Apparently, they still work too - if this Reddit thread is still accurate.
I REALLY need to replace my PSP screen and battery. I need to give it a try.
The last one I listened to was Nightride FM. If you like Synthwave, Darksynth, or other âSynthâ subgenres, I definitely recommend checking it out.
Nightwave Plaza is another good one - great for Vaporwave vibes.
AND we canât forget Poolsuite FM. Thatâs a classic.
But what else is out there? Time for some adventuring! All you have to do is find a good site AND START CLICKING.
SERIOUSLY - there are SO MANY INTERNET RADIO STATIONS.
Waelll - how about some medieval radio over at Ancient FM?
Internet-Radio is a great place to find streams - and the sites behind them.
FORR example - letâs say you want to listen to some anime music.
I fouund this maintained yet infrequently updated âAnime Tracksâ website - complete with an old school chat widget.
EDM? How about this mid 2000âs style Dance Attack website that IS frequently updated.
How about a City Pop radio station from Guadalajara? Radio.net has lots of fun radio stations to explore.
AND we canât forget TuneIn. Lots of great stations on here - including more niche ones like nightcore. Just like Internet-Radio you can find the websites behind each radio and explore deeper.
Or - just type the following into Google.
âyour favorite genreâ internet radio
Youâll find internet radio hosting websites youâve never heard of.

NTS always has something good
I feel like Im 15 years too late to the internet radio peak. I'm tired of soulless digital streaming music, and want the human touch of a radio show that's been curated. I wondered if I was the only one out there thinking about internet radio these days.
