In a world of algo chaos, order is needed
Happy late Valentineās Day!
Hope you had a wonderful weekend with your loved ones.
I wasnāt able to score any McNuggets caviar for my wife. The site INSTA CRASHED during the countdown.
Apparently, it crashed for a lot of people. Seems like weāre reaching that point where Iām gonna have to try to use bots just to have a chance of getting one.
(Not sad about the caviar. It was merely an interesting internet marketing promo).
I have - yes - descended into the MAD MAD world of Openclaw. Yes. I know.
Donāt say anything
Tokens are EXPENSIVE. Iāve been enjoying Minimax and Kimi though - with Anthropic on backup duty.
If youāve also been struck with the Open Claw Bug - feel free to reply to this newsletter and let me know.
Moving on . . .
We watched the old and the new Mary Poppins with the kids recently, and Iām simply amazed at how congruent they got both of them.
From the long intro/outros to Dick Van Dyke making an appearance - Itās incredible how good the second one was.
(On the subject of Mary Poppins we canāt forget that sheād likely win in a battle against the clown IT - she is an āentityā after all).
š A Return to RSS
Ok, soooo weāve alllll seen enough of AI cats and such.
(With seedance 2.0 and other similar tools ramping up - who knows how much longer we can tell).
All social media platforms are algorithmic machines - chronological posting is a thing of the far past.
Oh how I miss chronological Twitter and Instagram. Those were the days.
RSS was and is glorious. You could just . . . . follow a feed of content from a website, forever.
BUT - RSS is still around - and itās not too late to use it. If anything, thereās more and more articles lamenting the decline of RSS over the years.
You can RSS big websites like Wired or Youtube, or even X (Twitter) if you know where to look.
How do I get into RSS?
Iām so glad you asked!
Go create an Inoreader or Feedly account. I personally recommend Inoreader. It has a generous free plan - and you can use it as an app or on your computer.
Top RSS Feeds
Hacker News - Lots of interesting tech articles.
Youtube - Still RSSāable, even in 2026. Pick your favorite channels.
X (Nitter) - Still works! Follow your favorite X posters without the algos. Search for a user, then search for a feed using the Inoreader chrome extension or search tool.
Reddit - Get all posts from your favorite subreddits. All you have to do is add .rss to the end of a url - like this - https://www.reddit.com/r/McDonalds.rss
Pinterest - just like Reddit - add .rss to the end of a board - like this - https://www.pinterest.com/thelandofrandom/vaporwave-aesthetic.rss
Hardmode RSS Feeds
Oh so you want Instagram and TikTok RSS? You can, but it aināt cheap
Tools like rss.app can do a lot of extra things but cost money.
Adventure RSS
Go looking for blogs and websites that you enjoy - and see if you can add a feed.
š The Land of Random
Crazy links? Yeah. You got it.
Lofi Desk
Itās an interesting little Lofi desk app in the style of āLofi Girl.ā
The Keyboard Phone War
Out there is a faithful core using everything from old Android blackberry phones to Unihertz blackberry phones - and SOMEHOW 2026 is the year that weāre getting TWO brand nerw ones - one from Unihertz, and one from Clicks. Check out this Reddit conversation.
2000ās Core
Listen to music while watching old videos / anime. This website feels like it was pulled straight out of the early-mid 2000ās. Really fun - and perfect for that second monitor.
Deepcut Vaporwave
You love to see it
Map the Missing
Ok well this is more on the sad creepy side BUT this site maps missing people and vehicles - which means if thereās a pond or lake nearby - and you have a sonar - you might be able to solve a missing person case.
Eye-Watering Lava
Warning. This interactive lava screen may make your eyes hurt. proceed with caution.
What does the internet āknowā about you?
See what it knows. Learn the ancient data texts. Jokes aside this is a fascinating tool.
How about some atmospheric DnB?
Vibes. Vibes all around
Thatās all for this week. See you next time!

I won't say a word about the Openclaw descent, but I feel you on those token costs. Minimax and Kimi have been holding their own lately, especially for long-context stuff. Also, that Mary Poppins vs. Pennywise theory is 100% canon in my head nowāsheās definitely a high-level cosmic entity. These https://videotoframes.com/ and https://squido.ai/ are what I used to choose.
For helping find other RSS feeds that might be worthwhile, I like to browse https://rss.social/ and https://minifeed.net/global
