👏 The "Return" of Myspace, Wear Digital Clothes, and Welcome to Upstract
All the news you could ever want
Hey friends! Hope you’re doing well this week.
Did you see all the projects Disney plans to release in the next two years for Marvel and Star Wars?
It’s absolutely nuts - especially for Baby Boomers, Millennials and Gen X’rs.
Other than movies and a few animated shows - there wasn’t much Star Wars to watch for years . . .
And now Disney is making 10 shows! That came out of nowhere . . .
I guess they’re finally leaning into what people want. More Starwars content than 1 movie every 2-3 years. It’s been pretty lame.
This tweet made me laugh. Yes I did buy Dunkaroos recently.
They were delicious!
Well, let’s hop on into today’s topics, shall we?
✌The Return of Myspace
No - sadly the OG myspace has not returned - BUT - a worthy clone has emerged - and it feels a lot like the oldddd Myspace.
You can customize your profile with CSS, just like the old Myspace! I haven’t yet, but I’ve seen some cool profiles on here.
At the moment - there aren’t many features available - but I know the creator @Anthemaker is probably adding some cool stuff as soon as he can!
Here’s what my profile looks like.
I k++now it’s just a dream, but I think it’d be pretty awesome if social media moved back in this direction. Simpler, easier to use. More customization and personality. More FUN - less management of social status.
Here on Spacehey, profiles are an old school reflection of personality and interests. Modern social media now focuses on photos and video to the exclusion of practically all else.
I wish more of the internet was like Spacehey . . . .

👚Wear Digital Clothes
Have you ever wanted to wear clothing in the digital world?
What if you could buy epic designer clothes at a fraction of the cost and wear them in your pictures?
Well, now you can thanks to Dress X.
Dress X is seeking to reduce the amount of clothing waste in the world by focusing on digital garments that do not contribute to physical waste. Here’s their Mission Statement
We strongly believe that the amount of clothing produced today is way greater than humanity needs. We share the beauty and excitement that physical fashion creates, but we believe that there are ways to produce less, to produce more sustainably, and not to produce at all. At a current stage of DressX development, we aim to show that some clothes can exist only in their digital versions. Don't shop less, shop digital fashion.
How does it work?
Basically, you buy a digital garment, upload a photo, and voila! - You are now digitally wearing the garment of your choice.
Here’s an example.
It’s an interesting idea - but I’m honestly not very sure how realistic it is. How many people are willing to pay $10+ dollars to wear something that they can enjoy only digitally?
A lot of the draw of “fashionable” clothing is the effect/feel you get from physically wearing the garment.
I guess - if you’re an influencer - you could “model” digital clothes at a fraction of the cost it takes to buy real designer clothes.
I think a case could be made for very special staged photos - such as the one above - but I’m honestly not sure how mainstream this could go outside of these two use cases.
Here’s a paradox. What if virtual influencers bought digital clothes to model them? 🤯
Think about that question for a while . . .
