What’s up everybody. How’s life going?

I hope y’all are off to a great start this week. Happy Memorial Day!

We’re moving soon from Nashville back to Franklin, so we’re hard at work packing up our tiny apartment. We’re hoping to find one with a decent kitchen. My wife and I both love cooking and need space for all our cutting boards and stuff.

It’ll be our first time moving with a baby, so it will be fun!

🧥 The Iron Man Jacket

Once in a while every few years we see fashion and technology collaborate. Remember those hoodies that had earbuds for strings, or those Nike shoes that self lace? We always ooh and aah, but we rarely see them catch on.

Well, there’s this really cool company called Vollebak that makes really high tech jackets from such materials as graphene, ceramic, and carbon fibre. They’ve just created a jacket made from copper. Yes, the jacket is literally made of metal.

With over 11 kilometres of copper in every jacket, the Full Metal Jacket is designed to help us pioneer the future of intelligent and disease resistant clothing. Copper is one of the most advanced materials in our solar system . . . Built with 65% copper, the jacket is soft, malleable, highly waterproof, windproof and breathable, and comes with a fleece lined neck and pockets, making it a perfect everyday technical jacket. The copper is laminated with an advanced waterproof and breathable membrane called c_change®. Instead of remaining static, the membrane can open and close to respond to different weather conditions as they happen, while remaining permanently waterproof and windproof. Yeah. This jacket sounds absolutely amazing. I really hope we start to see more high tech clothing like this go mainstream - but hopefully cheaper. This jacket will only set you back $1095. 😲

😡 The Anti Cussin’ Font

Occasionally I find things on the internet that are utterly fascinating. This font “Scunthorpe Sans” automatically detects and blocks out profanity. You type in a cuss word - and it automatically blocks it out.

Scunthorpe is a reference to a city in England that was unable to create AOL accounts in the 90’s because the town’s name was labeled an obscenity. You should read it here.

Even better? YOU can download this font for free and install it! It’s hilarious - and I’d love to see someone put this into place on a blog comment section without telling anyone. It’s open-source, so you could definitely use it for a t-shirt or some kind of graphic design project.

💧 Macgyver’s Water Bottle

There’s a new Kickstarter water bottle - it’s called Hitch - and I’m in love. Here, watch this trailer. You’ll understand why.

This ad is fantastic! I’m sold by the time I see the coffee cup screw in the top for an easy carry. Honestly, I just showed my wife this ad and she wants to buy it.

The ad is funny, relevant (the broken scooter, insane coffee drinks), undermines the current oversaturated thermos market with a new angle, and connects to the environment by seeking to undermine the world of single-use coffee cups (something I’ve never considered before. Here we are all trying to reduce our impact on the environment and we’re all still running around with those single-use coffee cups).

It’s brilliant. This ad made me laugh, say wow to the tech, forced me to reconsider buying coffee, and - most importantly - made me consider opening my wallet. This is a fantastic ad for your inspirational swipe file. This is how you do product launches. Boom.

It’s no surprise to me that this blew away its Kickstarter goal of 10K and is now on pace for 1 Million dollars. I wish this company all the best - and hope to purchase my own someday.
